I first noticed this hairstyle when millions of girls went crazy for the former Disney star Cole Sprouse on twitter. I didn’t think of it much at the time, but lately I’ve been seeing more and more of this hairstyle popping up and with how great it looks, it definitely seems to be a bubbling trend.
The hairstyle itself is very reminiscent of the 90’s. Leonardo DiCaprio rocked something very similar in his younger years also., but as with every cyclical hairstyle trend, when it returns there is a slight modern twist.
Having the top of the hair long enough so it gracefully falls at the taper behind the head is of course very important for this hairstyle.
Pairing a long flow top with a low fade taper makes you look a lot less 90’s and a lot more 2016. This hairstyle does feature a long top and short sides but that doesn’t make it an undercut, as classic undercuts have a shorter top and a higher fade/shaved side.
Although I wouldn’t call this hairstyle an undercut, one of the best ways I’ve found to achieve this hairstyle is by getting a classic undercut and letting it grow long, the top will naturally look like how it’s supposed to and the sides and back will need a little trim and taper, voila!
This is a great hairstyle and one that I can see many guys pulling off. You can wear it clean and fully slicked back or a little bit messy with some fringe.
This hairstyle is already huge among high fashion models and as we know, a lot of what’s popular in high fashion trickles down after a few years, and I can definitely see this hairstyle being the biggest of 2016.
This Will Be The Biggest Men’s Hairstyle Trend of 2016
